Here is a message from a new adopter that we received in email today:
Hi there!
Just wanted to let you know how my new love is doing. I’ve re-named her Sydney (was BeBe). I got her a rhinestone collar and a nametag. (It’s a girl thing) She is an absolute joy. She sleeps with me and licks my face in the morning to wake me up. Talk about a different way to get exfoliated!!!!! She follows me all over the house when I am cleaning, and sits right next to me when I am on my laptop. She watches the colors change on the screen. She is fascinated with it! She really is doing well. Eating, litter box, everything. I went yesterday and bought her some more toys. She gets really frisky with them in the evenings and plays until she is exhausted. I got a scratching item that hangs from a doorknob and at the bottom of the door. She getting the hang of it. We are having such fun together. She does however like me to carry her all over the house. I think the ceramic tile is cold on her feet and she’s not used to it yet! I’ve attached some pics of her so you can see how she’s doing. Will keep in touch. Thank you so much for bringing her Saturday! She is my heart!!! CH
An email message received 3/7/08 about the adoption of Gracie:
Hi! Everything is going fine with Gracie and Louie. They’re already playing together and I suspect by tonight they may even get some sleep. Gracie is a hoot!! She thinks all of Louie’s toys are fantastic. And he thinks she is wonderful … you should hear all the “churring” and “pritzing” he’s been doing since she arrived. Pretty funny considering he’s neutered.
We adopted Andy two weeks ago, and just wanted everyone to know this was a match made in heaven!! He is such a good boy! Took him to our vet last Thursday for his booster shot and microchip and everybody was smitten by him! The vet didn’t even need a tech to hold him for the procedures! Andy was Mr. Lovie – “Shot? What shot? Could you nice ladies pet me some more, please?” He is getting along grandly with the 4-year-old kiddo and our senior doggie. And my hubby and I have taken to calling him “Happy Cat” because of the constant purring AND he hops up in your lap on demand! Crazy! Thanks for such a wonderful kitty boy – we adore him! Now if I could just get him to stop walking across this keyboard as I type…..
An email received about the adoption of Eddie and CiCi (now named Eddie Mae and Ruby);
The girls are fabulous. Mae’s leg (or lack thereof) is completely healed and not causing her any problems. The fur has all grown back and there are no visible scars. She and Ruby wrestle around like mad women, and they run around the house like their tails are on fire, but they’re also very good snugglers and both sleep with us in our bed. And they’re getting big! Ruby’s going to end up twice the size of Mae, I think, and she’s still eating like a champ. Mae’s a skinny little thing, but she holds her own in the wrestling matches.
Can’t remember if I told you this, but they both did insanely well when we took them to the vet – they even fell asleep (both of them) between procedures, so it was a non-traumatic experience all around. No meows, no scratches. Very, very well behaved. And we went to Metro Paws and loved them, so we appreciate the recommendation. They remembered Mae very well!
Another thing. We’re using Soft Claws as an alternate to having them de-clawed. We highly recommend them, if you don’t use them already. They don’t bother the girls at all (they can still retract their claws) and it’s saving our furniture and curtains from being shredded.
Below is an email about Jeffrey from the new owner:
He is sweet and lovely and is really displaying his personality! He LOVES to watch the water in the toilet bowl get flushed, and makes me flush it 3-4 times every morning just so he can bat the water! He has a sweet, quiet voice and “meeps” at us when we come home.
We’ve renamed him “Tundra” (because he’s white and grey like snow-covered tundra, and after the truck). “Jeffrey” just wasn’t him!
I can understand, though, why the previous owners declawed him in the front – he’s very touchy with those paws, which is quite endearing, actually. He’s also very smart!
an email we received about newly adopted cat Wilbur.
As we speak, little Wilbur is purring away giving himself a bath next to me ( . . . )
He took to us and our home very well! I was very afraid he would feel
separation anxiety (from his sibling), but he showed no sign of it. He spent the rest of the evening playing with his new toys and getting to know our home. As we settled for the night, he took turns sleeping with us. I have never had such a loving soul as Wilbur. He would give me kisses as I lay in bed. He would put his little head against my cheek and purr himself to sleep.
Thank you again for this opportunity. He is truly a dream.
A note from an adopter 3/28/09
I adopted Newman, the little blue point siamese at the end of November. I just wanted to send you an update. He is no longer a little boy! He is eating me out of house and home but I love him so much and he gives me so much love in return. He loves to play fetch with his felt balls and he actually brings them right back. He and my female siamese, Peaches, get along so well that I find them sleeping together all the time. He is a mischievous little man and keeps me on my toes. Thanks again for letting me be his mom.
